POLICE have warned tradies to lock their cars after a spate of thefts from unlocked vehicles.
Inspector Paul Tysoe of Whittlesea police said thieves were taking advantage of trusting tradies, robbing them of easy-to-sell power tools.
New estates were also being targeted for burglary, particularly homes in the last stages of construction.
Thieves were taking hot water services and newly installed kitchen appliances, he said.
